Meatloaf Recipe:

The combination of ground beef, onion, Panko breadcrumbs, fresh parsley, and seasonings results in a meatloaf that is incredibly soft and juicy. This traditional meatloaf has incredible flavor thanks to the sweet and sour glaze.

Tips on How to Make the BEST Meatloaf:

DO NOT OVERMIX as this may cause a tough or dense meatloaf.

For simpler removal of the meatloaf, line your loaf pan with parchment paper, letting the edges dangling over the pan.

Before serving, spoon the pan's remaining juices over the sliced meatloaf.

Allow the onion to simmer completely after finely chopping it (or sautee the onion before adding)

For the meat to maintain its shape, gently push it into the pan.

Before slicing, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes.

What is the Best Meat for Meatloaf?

Use ground beef that is between 85% and 90% lean. Use lean meat without worrying; the other ingredients will make your meatloaf moist and juicy. Steer clear of meats that are extremely lean.

Meatloaf Sauce:

With the ideal harmony of sweet and sour flavors, this meatloaf sauce is fantastic as a glaze for the meatloaf. Brown sugar, onion and garlic powder, salt, pepper, and vinegar are all blended with ketchup to make an enticing sauce. The glaze caramelizes after baking and is SO GOOD!

Can I bake Meatloaf on a baking sheet?

Meatloaf should be baked on a baking pan for crispier edges. Make a self-made pan out of foil with edges to catch the drippings from the meatloaf while it bakes. Meatloaf should be formed and placed in foil. Follow the remaining baking instructions. NOTE: Depending on the meatloaf's shape and thickness, baking times may vary slightly.

How long to cook Meatloaf?

Cook the meatloaf at 375°F for 40 minutes with the lid off. Bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F, after adding the sauce. Increase cooking time if using a loaf pan that is smaller than 9x5.
